Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 May 2026

Draft. This document is a working draft and has not been reviewed by counsel. It will be replaced with a counsel-reviewed version before paid sign-ups go live.

By using Orient (“the Service”), you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

Orient is a strategic operating system for solo founders. It produces a daily brief, runs an advisory council on your decisions, and tracks the artifacts of your strategic work in a single workspace.

The Service is provided by Fred Law, operating as Ornt, based in Singapore.

2. Your account

You authenticate to the Service through Clerk. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for any illegal purpose; attempt to disrupt the Service or access another user’s account; reverse-engineer the Service or its underlying systems; or use the Service to generate content that violates our third-party AI provider’s acceptable-use policy.

4. Subscriptions and payment

A free tier is available. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe (managed by Clerk Billing). You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods, but if you believe you have been charged in error, email us.

5. Your content

You own the data you put into Orient — decisions, tasks, chat messages, business context. We do not claim ownership of it. See the Privacy Policy for how it is handled.

You grant us a limited license to process your data for the purpose of running the Service, including transmitting relevant context to a third-party AI provider to produce responses.

6. Our intellectual property

The Service, its design, configuration, and all software remain our property. You do not get a license to redistribute or resell the Service.

7. Not professional advice

Orient produces analyses and recommendations, including from advisory roles labeled “CFO” or “CTO.” These are not financial, legal, medical, or other professional advice. You are responsible for your own decisions.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its recommendations will be correct.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by closing your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose a risk to the Service or its other users.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes will be heard in Singapore courts.
